OARNIV ALB,Et 0 • , AN ORDINANOE to tax,lioense and regulate oirouses,menageries, theatres,shows,oarnivals,exhibitions and other enter1;ainments, and repealing all ordinanoes and parts of ordinanoes inoonfliot herewith. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARYSVILLE,WASH- INGTON,as follows: SECTION 1.That all theatres,shows,oarnivals,exhibitions, oircuses,menageries and other entertainments,whioh shall be set up.maintained and oonduoted in the Town of Marysville,Washington, shall be lioensed and taxed at the following rates to-wit~ (aJ Every oirous or menagerie shall pay a lioense of Twenty-five (#25.00)Dollars per day. (b)Every theatre,ppera,show,exhibition and any and all publio entertainments for whioh an admittanoe fee is oharged,shall pay a lioense tax of Three dollars($3.00)per day,or Ten ($10.00)Dollars per week,or Jtifteen ($15.00) Dollars per month;provided,that the Owner or lessee of any public hall,opera-house,or other edifioe where the publio assemble,may prooure an annual license therefor at the rate of 'l'hirty ($30.00)Dollars per yea~,payable annually,whioh lioense shall oover all exhibition~or entertainments given therein during the oontinu.an&e of said lioense. (0)Every oarnival shal}.pay a lioense of Ten ($10.00) Dollars per day or Jrifty ($50.00)Dollars per week. (d)'Every moving pioture show,so oalled,shall, pay a lioense at the rate of Three ($3.00)Dollars per month; No suoh lioense to be issued for a period of less than three (3)months. 87 1 I SECTION 2.Be~ore any person shall set up,maintain and run, within the ~own of Marysville,either as owner,agent or manager, any oircus,menagerie,theatre,show,oarnival,exhibition,opeEa, or any other publio entertainment or amusement,he shall tak&out a lioense authorizing suoh person to oonduot such business,oocup- ation or calling,and any person who shall desire to obtain any license shall pay to the 'l'own .Treasurer the license tax fixed in Section One (1)of this ordinance,and take from the said ~reasurer a receipt for the amount so paid and upon the presentation of said receipt to the C~e;rtf of said 'L'own,shall be entitled to receive a license,which~speoify the kind of show or entertainment authorized which said license shall not be transferable,nor shall it author_ ize any indecent or immoral show or exhibition. SECTION 3.The provisions of this ordinance shall not be so construed so as to apply to church entertainments,Christmas trees, school or Sunday School concerts or exhibitions,given for charit- able or benevolent purpose,under the auspices of any benevolent organization of said Town.
