R ~ ORDINANCE NO.~q~ for the certain An ordinance amending Ordinance No.233, use of water meters,es t ab Ll shIng.rates and ordiilmances. providing !lll!pealing BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOUr!COUNCIL .OF THE TOH1\I OF MARYSVILLE: Section 1.Sections 5,16, 19,24,27,28 and 34 of Ordinance No.233 are hereby repealed. Section 2.That Section 33 of Ordinance No. 233 is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 33.All rates shall be due and payable on or be- fore the lOth day of eacr anq,eve~ymorith iBadvance at the office of the Town Clerk who shall receive the money and receip t therefore, stating in the receipt the property for and which wate r rental has been paid,and shqll post same in books for permanent record;when the lOth day of any month falls on Sunday or a legal holiday,the day preceedingshall be the last day on which such charges shall be due and payable.All rates.not so paid shall be delinquent.All delin- quents will be shut off and will not be turned on again DBtil all arrearages and pena.l.t Les have been paid,together Iii th an additional penalty of fifty/cents for shuting off and turning on the water. Payment of water rates charged against the premises for the current term shall not pe accepted until arrearages against said premises ( shall have.be'en paid. Section 3.That Section 35 of Ordinance No.233 is hereby amended to r-ead as follows: Section 35.All meters installed shall be the property of the Town.Ifa mete:e.',becoineS out of order and fails to register the consumer mhall be charged at the average daily consumption as shown by the meter during the last three months that the meter was operating properly.In all cases where meters are :).ost,injured,damaged or broken by the carelessness or negligence of the owner or occupant of the premises,the meter shall be repaired by or under the direction of the Superintendent and the cost of such repair charged against the owner or occupant.If such costs are not paid the water shall be shut off and will not be turned on until such costs and the charge of fifty cents for shutting off and turning on the water have been paid. Section 4.That Section 36 of Ordinance #233 is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 36.There shall be charged for water connections within the corporate limits of the Town the following: Connections with 3/4 l1 galVanized pip e Connections with 3/4 l1 copper tubing $25.00 35.00 For sizes larger than 3/4 l1 ,or where it becomes necessary to open a paved street,the actual cost of labor and materials in laying such a service and replacing the pavement shall be charged. For water connections outside the corpor-at.e limits of the Town there shall be charged the sum of ,*100.00 plus the actual cost of labor and material in connecting such service and the cost of a water meter. Section 5.That Section 37 of Ordinance #233 is hereby amended to •e-,, ~ read as follows: Section 37.There shall be paid out of the Current Expense Fund into the Water and Sewer Revenue Fund the sum of $3.00 per annum for each municipal fire hydrant..
