'rhe Chief ot:~oticeis hereby .authorized to furnish each member of
the auxiliary police force with a membership identif'ication carel
anel p01ice baelge.The membership identif'ication card is to be carr-
ied by such member at a11 times,and the p01ice badge is to be worn
on1y when the auxiliary p01iceman is authorized to wear the pre-
scribeel uniform.
Membership'o:f any person in the Auxi1iary Police may be revoked at
any time by the Chief of'Police or the Director of'Civil Def'ense.
Any member o~the Auxilia.ry Police maY resign upon notif'ication to
the Director of Civil Defense or the Chief pf Police.Upon separ-
ation from the organization.all equipment issued to him by the
Town of Ma.rysville must be turned in within S days.
Section 4.The Chief of Police is the commanding officer of the
civilian auxiliary police force.He shall be responsible for
establishing a training program.promulgating rules and regu1ations
for their conduct.prescribing their uniform.anel supervising their
performance of eluty.He selects anel appoints men to the civilian
auxiiiary p01ice force anel may appoint souch subordinate officers
as he deems suitable and necessary.However.the rules and regu1a-
tions must be approveel'by the 10ca1 ,Dh-ector of Civil Defense.No
member of.the civi1ian auxi1iary pQ1ice sOO11 be regarded as "city
employee for any purpose.subject to civil service ru1es and
regu1ations.nor entitled to the benefits of the Pelice Pension
Fund Act.6(Ch.41.20RCW)

Section 5.Members of the auxiliary police force shall have all
those powers vested in them by the Chief of Police while in the
performance of officially authorized duties.but under no circtioi"
stances shall said auxiliary policeman exercise any power While
not in the performance of duties ordered by the Chief of ~olice
or by a regular police officer.
Section 6.Members of the civilian auxiliary police force serve
without compensation.but the oityoollnoil may.in itsdb;cretion~
pay all or part of the oost of furnishing uniforms and equipment
when the appropriation therefore has been indioated as an iteoiin
the Town budget for oivil defense.
Seotion 7.The Town of Marysville shall'register all regularniem"
bers of the oivilian auxiliary polioe offioers as oivil defense
workers so that in the event of injury or death in the perf0t;'manc~
of duty.such auxiliary policemen ",ill be eligible for ,ooll1Pensa.tion
available for this purpose as est'ablishedby the state legislature
and administered by the'StateDepartlJientof Civil Defense~Sinoe '
the civilian audl1ary policemen are'providing their service,stO
the town on a volUntary basis,the Town of Marysville authorize's
supplementing this oOmpensation ava.ilable,in the event of inJury'
or death in the performance of duty,with ~ccident insuranoe On an
individual basis 'to each ci"ilian aUXiliary poli"officer.
Section 8.This orainanceis hereby declared to be an'emergenoy
measure necessary fo~the immediate preservation of thepublio '
peaoe,health and safety,and shall take effect inim:ediately.
Section 9.If any provisions of this ordinance orthe'app:1icati'on
thereof to any person or circumstances is held invalid,such in-
validity shall not affeot other provisions or'applications of the
ordinance whioh can be given effeot without the invalid provision
or application.and to this end the ,provisions 'of this'ordinance
are declared to be severable...
