SI:.XTION I Larceny.Every person who,with intent to deprive or
defraud the owner t.tier eof
(a)shall take,Lead or drive away the property of another;or
(b)sha Z1 obta in from t he owner or ano tiler the possess ion of or
title to any property,real or pereona i ,by co tor or Li.id of any or-
der for the payment or delivery of property or money or any check
or draft,knowirtg that the maher or drawer Of such order,cnec k or
draft was not authori~ed or entitled to make or draw the same,or
by'color or aid of any fraudu~ent or false representation,presento.-
tion or pretense or b~any false token or writing or by ~ny trick,
device,bunco game or fortune-teLling;or
(c)having any property in his possession,custody or control,
as bailee,factor,pledg'ee,servant,attorney,agent,empLoaoe,
trustee,executor,administrator,guardian or officer of any person,
estate,association or corporation or as a pUblic officer,or a per-
Son authorized by agreement or by competent authority to take or
hold such possession,custody or cOl/.trol,or as a finder thereof,
shan secrete,withhold or appropriate the same to his own use or to
the use of any person other than the true owner or person entitled
thereto;or
(d)having'received any property by reason 0/mistake,.shaLL
with knowledge of such mistake secrete,withhold or appropriate the
same to his own use or to the use of any person other than the true

Who shaLL without the permission of the owner or persons entitLed.
to the possession thereof intentionaLly take or drive away any auto-
mob i te or motor vehicLe,whether pr ope l led by steam,e tec tr ic i t u.or
irit erna t combustion engine,the property oj another,sha t t be deemed
guiLty of a misdemeanor,and every ·person.voluntarily fiding ·in or
upon said automobi le or motor vehicle with knowLedge of the fact
that the same was unLaWfuLLy taken sh.all be deemed equally guilty
with the person taking or driving said automObile or motor vehicLe

without such fund or credit to meet the same,shall be prima facie
evidence Of an intent to defraud.
SECTION IV Motor serial number--Purchase saLe or possession.
when altered.llhoeverknowtngly buys,seiis,receives,disposes
oj,conceaLs,or has in fds possession any motor uetu e t:«or mo.tor
bout from which the manufacturer's Serial numDer or any other dis-
_tinquishing num~er or identification mark has been remoued,de-
faced,couered,altered or destroyed for the purpose of conceaZ-
ment or misrepresenting the identity of said motor vehicle or motor

SECTION V Frauds on Innkee~er.Every person who shall obtain
any food,lodging or accommo ution at any hotel,restaurant,board-
ing house or Louging house without paying therefor,with intent to
tief'r aud the proprietor or manager thereof,or who sha l t obtain
credit at a hotel,restaurant,boarding house or lodging house by
color or aid of any faLse pretenses,representation,token or writ-,'
ing,or who after obtaining board,.lodging or accomm.odat ion at a
hotel,restaurant,Doarding house or lodging house shall abscond::
.or surreptitiously remove his baggage therefrom without paying for

S~CTION VI False weights and measures.£uery person who shall
injure or defraud another by using,with knOWledge that the same
is false,a false weight,measure or other apparatus for determin-
ing the quarct ity of any c ommoa i t ij or art ic Le of merchandise,or Dy.
know ing ly misrepresent ing the quarit ity thereof bought or so ld;or
who shall retain .in his possession any weight or measure,knOWing
it to be ja tee ,unless tt appears beyond a reasonable douo t that it
was so retained Without intent to use it or permit it to be used or
pLaced in uioLation of the foregoing provisions of this section,
shall be gui lty of a mi sciemeanor ,.
