AN ORDINANC£providing for the protection of the public health
and safety,and the qualification and registration of persons
engaged in the business of plumbing,or laboring at the trade of
plumbing;requiring a permit and inspection for th~installation
or alteration of plumbing and drainage systems;creating an Ad-
ministration Office and a BOard of Plumber Examiners,and pres-
cribing their duties,defining certain terms;establishing minimum
r equ Lat i oris for the installation,alteration or repair Of pLumbing
and drainage systems and the inspection thereof;providing pen-
alties for its violation and repealing conflicting ordinances.
If any section,subsection,sentence,clause,phrase or portion
of this code is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitu-
tional by the decision of any court of competent_Jurisdiction,
such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions of this code.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE'DO ORDAIN AS FOLLO~S:
SECTION 1:That the/7?61'edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code
OS prepared and edited by the Western Plumbing Officials Associa-
tion,subject to the modifications,additions and changes herein-
after set forth,is hereby adopted as amended,supplemented and
modified herein as the Plumbing Code and Ordinance of the City of
Marysvi i le,Washingio,n,there being three copies Of said Plumbing
Code on file with the City Clerk of the City of MarysviLle and
such Code by reference is hereby made a part of this ordinance as
though fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2:That the Uniform Plumbing Code as adopted is supple-
mented and amended as follows:
(a)That Part One,Sec.1.1 is completed by filling in the blank
th2rein as follows:"Building Inspector of the City of Marysville,
or nis authorized agent."
(b)That Part One,Sec.1.2 is completed by filling in the blank
therein as follows:"Person or persons appointed by t tie Bu i Lti i nq
Inspector of the City of Narysuille."
(c)That Part One,Sec.1.3 is hereby eLiminated.
(d)That Part One,Sec.1.7 is compLeted by fiLLing in the
blanks as follows:"300.00""City""Two"
(e)That Part TWo,Sec.2.4 shall be amended to read as follows:
"The bOard of plumber examiners as provided by Section 2.4 of the
code shall consist of 5 members,one of whom shall be elected
by the other me@bers to act as secretary.The Board shaLL be
appointed by the Mayor with the concurrence of the City Counc i L
The members of the Board shalL serve for four years.Two members
of the first board shaLL be appointed for two years and the
remaining three members for four years.Thereafter,each member
shall be appointed for a four year term."
(f)That Part Two,Sec.2.9 is completed by j'illing in the blanks

SECTION 3:That there is hereby added to Part 2 of the Uniform
Plumbing Code herein adopted a Sec.2.12,unii cti shall read as
follows:
Section 2.12:That the Schedule of·annual license fees in the
City of MarysviLLe shaLL be as foLLOWS:
(a)The license fee for a master plumber shaLL be $15.00
per year.
(b)The license fee for a journeyman plumber sha II be
$5.00 per year.
(c)The license fee for an apprentice plumber shan be
$1.00 per year.
SECTION 4:That Part 1,Sec.1.12 is hereby amended to read as

Section 6:All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
