AN ORDINANCE providing for the protection of the public health and
safety,and the qualification and registration of persons enEaged in
the business of plumbing,or laboring at the trade of plumbing;re-
quiring a permit and inspection for the installation or alteration
of plumbing and drainage systems;creating an Administration Office
and a Board of Plumber Examiners,and prescribing their duties,
defining certain terms;establishing minimum regulations for the in-
stallation,alteration or repair of plumbing and drainage systems and
the inspection thereofj providing penalties for its violation and
repealing conflicting ordinances.
If any section,subsection,sentence,clause,phrase or portion of
this code is for any reaSon held to be invalid or unconstitutional by
the decision o~any court of competent jurisdiction,such decision
shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of the code.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLO~S:
SECTION 1:That this 1964 edition of the uniform plumbing code as
prepared and edited by the Western Plumbing Officials Association,
subject to the modifications,additions and changes hereinafter set
forth,is hereby adopted as amended,supplemented and modified herein
as the plumbing code and ordinance of the city of Marysville,there be-
ing three copies of said plumbing code on file with the city clerk of
thp.city of Marysville,and such code by reference is hereby made a
r~rt of this ordinance as though fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2:That the Uniform Plumbing Code as adopted is supplemented
and amended as follows:
(a)That Part One,Sec.1.1 is completed by filling in the blank
therein as follows:"Building Inspect-or of the city of MarySVille,
or his authorized agent."
(b)That Part One,Sec.1.2 is completed by filling in the blank
therein as follows:"Person or persons appointed by the Building
Inspector of th~City of Marysville."
(0)That Part One,Sec.1.3 is hereby eliminated.
(d)That Part One,Sec.1.7 is completed by filling in the blanks
as follows:"300.00""city""two."
(e)That Part Two,Sec.2.4 shall be amended to read as follows:
liThe board of plumber examiners as provided by Section 2.4 of the code
shall consist of five (5)members,one of whom shall be elected by the
other members to act as secretary.The board shall be appointed by
the Mayor with the concurrence of the city council.The members of
the board shall serve for four (4)years.Two members of the first
board shall be appointed for two years and the remaining three members
for four years.Thereafter,each member s1:all be appointed for a four
(4)year term."
(f)That Part Two,Sec.2.6,as far as application fees are con-
cerned,shall be amended to read as follows:"$5.00 for master
plumbers;'!i}.50 for journeymen plumbersj $1.00 for apprentice plumbers."
(g)That Part Two,Sec.2.9 is completed by filling in theblanks
therein as follows:"December 31""December J 1"

SECTION 5:-The fee for sewer contractors shall be ~15.00 per year •

Failure to secure a Plumbing Prlrmit:Double the
schedule of fees.
SECTION 6:All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are he rc by repealed.
SECTION 7:That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its pas sagc ,approval ana five days following its publication,
as required by law.
