An ordinance of the City of Marysville relating to business occupancy
pennits.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:That on and after the effective date of this ordinance,
no persons shall oper&te any kind of business,trade or profession
in a business location in the City of MarySVille without first obtain-
ing and being the holder of a valid and subsisting permit so to do,to
be known as a "Business Occupancy Permit"issued under the provisions
of this ordinance,as hereinafter provided,and without paying the
permit fee imposed by this ordinance.
SECTION 2:That the fee for the "Business Occupancy Permit"shall be
rive dollars ($5.00)which shall accompany the application for the
permit.Applications for the permit shall be made to and issued by
the City Clerk on forms provided by the Clerk's office.
SECTION ~:That said permit shall be personal and nontransferable.
In caseusiness is transacted at two or more separate places by one
permit-holder,a separate permit for each place at which business is
transacted with the public shall be required,but for such additional
permits no additional five dollar ($5.00)fee shall be required.
Each pennit shall be numbered,shall show the name,place and charac-
ter of business of the permit-holder,such other information as
required by the application for business occupancy permit,and shall
at all times be posted in the place of busin~ss for which it is
issued.Where a place of business of the permit-holder is changed,
the permit-holder shall return to the Clerk the permit and a new
permit shall be issued for the new place of business.No permit shall
be issued for the carrying on of a business,trade or profession,
which would be in violation of the -zoning laws of the City,unless
operating under a valid non-conforming use.
SECTION 4:That no person to whom a permit has been issued pursuant
to this ordinance shall suffer or allow any other person for whom a
separate permit is required to operate under or display his permit;
nor shall such other person operate under or display such permit.
SECTION 5:That this ordinance shall not apply to those vendors
exempt from the provisions of Section 6.72.020,Marysville City Code.
SECTION 6:That any person to whom a permit is refused may appeal to
the City Council.
SECTION 7:.That all former ordinances or parts thereof conflicting
or inconsistent wi th the provisions of this ordinance are hereby
repealed.

SECTION 8:That any violation of this ordinance is punishable by a
fine of not more than ~300.00t or by imprisonment for 90 days,or
by such fine and imprisonment.
SECTION 9:That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage,approval,publication and on and after
June 1, 1967.
