ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE AMENDING
CHAPTER 1.6.08,MARYSVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS.
Section 1.The 1967 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code,
as prepared and edited by the International Association of Plumbing
and Mechanical Officials,subject to the modifications,additions
and changes her:eina~ter set forth,'~s hereby adopted as amended,
supplemented and modified herein as the PlUmbing Oode and ordinance
of the City of Marysville,there being three (3)copies of said
Plumbing Code on file with the City.Clerk of the City of Marysville,
and such code by reference is hereby made a part of this chapter as
thpugh fully set forth herein.
Section 2.Amendments to Code•
.~,The Unif orm Plumbing Code as adopted is supplemented and
amended as follows I
(a)Part One,Se'c.L 1 is completed by filling in the
blank'thereinas follows.Building inspector of,the City of Marysville,
or 'his'authorized agent."
(b)Part One,Sec.1.2 is completed by filling in the
Hank therein as follows I "Person or persons appointed by the building
inspector of the city of Marysvi:1-.1e."
(c)Part One,Section 1.3 is hereby eliminated.
(d)Part One,Sec.1.7 is comple·ted by filling in the
blanks as follows."300.00""city""two".
(e)Part Two,Sec.2.4 shall be amended to read as follows I
liThe board of plumber examiners as .provided by Section 2.4 of the code
shall consist of five members,one of whom shall be elected by the
other members to act as secretary.The board shall be appointed by
the mayor with the concurrence of the city council.The members of
the board shall serve ,for four years.Two members of the first board

shall be appointed for two years and the remaining three members for
four years.Thereafter,each member"shall be appointed for a four
year term.1I

\(f)Part Two,Sec.2.6,as far as application fees are
concerne~shall be amended to read as followsl "five dollars for
master plumbers,three dollars and fifty cents for journeymen plumbers;
one dollar for apprentice plumbers."
(g)Part Two,Sec.2.9 is compketied by filling the blanks
therein as follows l "December 31 II "December 31.1'
Section;2.12 added--Licensefeesl Th~re is hereby added
to Part 2 of the Uniform Plumbing Co.d~herein adopted a Sec.2~12,
which shall read as follows I
Section-2.121 That the Schedule of annual license fees in
the city of Marysville Shall be as follows I',
(a):The license fee for a master plumber shall be $15.00
per 'year ...
(b)The license fee for a journeyman plumber :shall be
$5.00 per year.
(c)The license fee for an apprentice plumber shall be
$1'.00 per year.
Section 1.12 amended --Schedule of fees.Part 1,Sec.1.12
is hereby amended to read as follows I

necessary water piping and back
protection devices
For each private sewage disposal system

For each industrial waste pretreatment
interceptor
For each grease trap or interceptor
For each repair or alteration of drainage

For each lawn sprinkling system on anyone
meter·or service includingbackflow
protection devices thereof
For vacuum breakers or backflow protective
devices on tanks,vats,etc.,'or for
installation on unprotected plumbing
fixtures including necessary water
piping -one to five .

Sewer contractor's fee --Penalties for failure to obtain
licenses.The fee for sewer contractors shall be fifteen dollars
per year.
PENALTIES,Failure of rna.ter plumber or journeyman plumber
to obtain license before starting a job,fifteen dollars plus the
license fee.Failure to secure a plumbing permit,double the schedule
of fe~s.
Section 3.All 'ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4.This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its pasaage,approval,and five days following
its pUblicatlonas required by law.
