Se~tion 6.Fire hydrants ~hall be installed on all extensions "of the City tl~ter Sys~em at the time such extensions are cons trruc ted,, ....s,r ------------------ ~ :1ydrants'shall be installed a t each,intersection of a street or public road and at such intermediat~,points as will 'result 'in spacing between hYdrants in residential areas of not to exceed 600 feet)measured along road centerlines,EXCEPT as 'follows:' a.If adja~ent road o~street interse~tions are spaced at 1/8 mile (660')intervals the hydrant spacing may also be 1/8 mile. b.The hydrant may be omitted at an intersection if: (1)The sum of the two greatest distances from the center of that intersectiont6 the ~enter of adjacent inter~ections (where hydrants are existing or proposed or where no ~ater mains exist)in all directions is less than 600 feet;or ,(2)The sum of the.distances to the center of the two adjacent intersections along the extension is less than 600 feet and the distances on the cross street to the·first inter- sections in both direc~ions ~re'both mbre than'660 feet. c.In general,all hydrants are to be located 6.0 feet from the right-of-way line in a 50 or 60 footh right-of-way and 1.0 f oot;from the 'right-'of-way line in a 40 foot right-of-way.'
