ORDINANCE NO.681
An ordinance supplementing ordinance No. 666 and providing
for fringe benefits for employees of the ,City of Marysville.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS I,
Section A.VACATIONS.
1.Eligibility Year
a.Any employee hired between January 1 through June 30

will be eli~ible?fbrrOne week's vacation on'the following
January 1st.
b.Any employee hired o~July '1 through December 31 will
not receive vacation on the following January 1st but will
be eligible for one week's'vacation on the second January 1
following his employment.
2.'Vacation Time
a.After qualifying f'or one week's vacation,an employee
shall work an 'additional two years 'to be eligible for two
week's vacation.
b.After an employee has qualified for one week's vacation,
an additional seven 'years,of employment will be required for
three week's vacation.
c.'After qualifying for the first week's vacation,an
additional fourteen (14)years of ~~tt will be required
for four (4)week's vacation •.
d •.After qualifying for:the firs't 'week's vacation,an
additional twenty-four'(24)years of employment will be
required to receive five (5)week',s .vacatn.on,

f.Grade seven or above will receive vacation for appropriate
experience as approved by'the Mayor and City Council~'
g.Vacation is to be taken at a time agreeable to the,
dep~rtmentsupervisorand:the Mayor.
Section B,.SALARY CONTINUATION POLICY,
1.Salary continuation shall be allowed'in the event -of a bonafide

accident or sickness.SalarY,continuation shall be allowable for
up to 120 calendar days and may be continued for,an additional '
,period by 'vote of the City Council.To be eligible,an employee

must be on the payroll for'tWelve'(12)months.~n 'employe who'

has 0 to 12 months of servicemay,'receive salary continuation

,department head.-In the event of,an,industri~l'accident,any

continuation w~ll be computed as the difference'between the state
industrial compensation and his salary.Tbe City will only make
up the difference between the state industria~'compensationand'
the employee's regular salary p+ovided there is not a duplication
of coverage.,'
Section C.HOLIDAYS,
1.The followingho~i9~YS shall be granted with pay,

In order'for the employee to get a'holiday off with pay,he must
have worked the ,day.bef?re and the day after the holiday.If an

'employee works a'holiday,then another day'will be giv~n off in
lieu o,f a holiday,'as arranged by the employee and his supervisor.
If the holiday falls on a Saturday;the Friday prior to the

holiday will be taken.off.'.If.the holiday falls on a Sunday,
,the following Monday will be·taken off.
Section D.RETIREMENT,'
1.The State of Washington Public E;mployees Retirement System
is in effect.
'Section E.MILITARY LEAVE,
1.Any employee requiring military leave of absence shall be
paid dUring his time of absence the difference,betWeen his
"
military pay and his regular,City pay.Military leave does not
'constitute vacation time.
Secfion F.GRANDFATHER CLAUSE',

1.Employees hired prior,to January 1,.1970 with less than
three year's service with the City ~ill receive vacation in
acccedance with tb~vacation schedule in force at the time of
their emp~oyment.
2.Employees hired after January 1,1970 shall receive vacation
time as specified Under Section A of this ordinance.Existing
employees with more than'three years service with the City shall,
receive vacation time as'specified in Section A.
Section GI All ordinances,or'parts of ,ordinances,'in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
