ORDINANCE NO.
An ordinance of the City of Marysville relating
to Plats and Subdivisions.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.TITLE
This ordinance shall be known and referred to as the "Platting
and Subdivision Ordinance of the City of Marysville".
SECr-ION 2.SCOPE
This ordinance shall apply to all persons,firms and corporations
proposing to make a subdivision of any land area into two or more lots,
plats or tracts,or proposing to dedicate any land as a public
right-of-way.
SECTION 3.DEFINITIONS
3.1 ALLEY - A strip of land,dedicated to public use,not less
than 20 feet wide between property lines,which provides
access to adjacent properties.
3.2 CUL-DE-SAC (Court or Dead End Street)- A short street having
one end open to traffic and being permanently terminated by
a vehicle turn-around.
3.3 EASEMENT - A grant by the property owner of the use of a
strip of land by the public,a corporation,or persons for
specific purposes.
3.4 FINAL PLAT - A map or chart of a subdivision of land which
has been accurately surveyed,and such survey marked on the
ground so that streets,alleys,blocks,lots and other
divisions thereof can be identified and which has been
approved in accordance with the regulations contained herein.
3.5 IMPROVEMENTS -Streets,with or without curb or gutter,
sidewalks,crosswalkways,water mains,sanitary and storm
sewers,street trees and other appropriate items.
3.6 LOT - A portion of a subdivision,or other parcel of land
intended as a unit for transfer of ownership o~for
development.
3.7 PRELIMINARY PLAT - A preliminary map or chart indicating a
proposed subdivision or re-subdivision of land.Filing of
a preliminary plat is only required when a tract of land
is to be s nbd Lvi.ded into five or more lots.All other
regulations ,herein apply to any subdivision of land as defined
below in 3.10.
3.8 STREET -A right-of-way,dedicated to the public use,which
provides vehicular and pedestrian access to adjacent properties.
3.9 SUBDIVIDER -A person who undertakes the subdiViding or the
re-subdividing of a lot,tract or parcel of land into two
or more lots or other divisions of land for the purpose,
immediate or future,of transfer of ownership or development
including all chan~es in street or lot lines.

SECTION 5.HANDLING OF APPLICATION
:';.1 'l'he Plannins Commission upon l"er:Ul.',':':,ng the application
shall review tho subdivision and notify the applica~t as
to its gon0ral acceptability.

5.7 Final sewer,water and und0rgrounJ service plans must be
submitted to tho City Engineer for app r-o vaI prior'to actual
construction of those utilitips.As-Built drawings,
conforming to Marysville Water an~Sewer Code requirements
and showing the exact location of the utilities must be
furnished.All underground utilities,sanitary sewers and
storm drains installed in street shall be constructed prior
to tho surfacing of such street.Service connections for
all underground util!ties a~d sanitary sew~rs shall.be la~d

SECTION 7.PUBLIC HEARING

to be posted in conspicuous places,on or adjacent to th8 land proposed

The City Clerk shall send by U.2.Mall,an announcement of the

When a private sewage disposal system is required,
