AN ORDINANCE AMENDING RATES AND rROVIDING ADDITIONAL REGULATIONS ON SO~ID WASTE COLLECTION WHEREAS,the City of Marysville has hid its r~gulations and rates concerning soLi.d waste collection as provi.ded by Or-d i.> '.. nances of the Ci ty of Nary sv i Ll.e r-evi.ewed,and recommendations having been made by'the Committee in accordance wi th the Ord~nance hereinafter provided;and WHEREAS,it is in the best interests of the City of Marysville to adopt such Ordinance as hereinafter provided, amending and repe~ling the rates for solid waste collection and providing additional general regulations, NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1.General Regulations:The general regulations concerning the collection of solid waste ire as follows:. A.PER CAN REGULATIONS: Can sizes,conditions of can,etc.,per Marysville Mun ic i pal Code (MMC)7.08:060. In addition,each can loaded.shall not exceed 75 pounds in weight.Also,one bundle,package or box,if prepared in accordance with MMC 7.08.070,shall be allowed per can. B.MULTI~UNIT REGULATIONS: Charges will be determined by the number of cans at a pickup point established within 30 feet of adequate truck parking and not the total number of units in a building.If two or more pickup points -1- .~~.:;p.'-:'.... ',')• .,l . are within 30 feet of the truck,then the total at the stop shall be considered as one pickup provided they are all for the same building.Any agreement deviating from the above shall be in writing and approved by the City Council.. C.CONTAINER REGULATIONS: Containers shall be located where acce~sible to trucks or where rollout5 are 20 feet or less.All rollouts shall be on a hard surface, i.e.,not on a graveled path or roadway. User shall exercise reasonable care of con- tainers in his custody.Repairs due to abuse shall be charged to user.The user shall be responsible to notify the Garbage Department if container repairs are needed.Failure to do so may be considered as abuse. Any agreement deviating from the above shall be iri writi~g and appioved by the City Council. D.PICKUP POINT: The location at which a can,a collection of cans,a-container,etc.,has been left to be emptied by the Garbage Department. Section 3.The rates ~H.i~h have heretofore been charged by the Clty of Marysville for the respective dwellings and amount of solid waste collected are as follows,as set iorth in Ordinance No.616,Section 1: -2- ::""--':..'--.... '.1 $1.50 per month for the first can for each separate commercial unit and each separate living unit. $1.25 for the second can. $1.00 for the third can. $.90 for the fourth can. $.80 for the fifth can and for each additional can. And as set forth in Ordinance No.563,S~ction 3: "The formula tO,be,used in cCl;lculating the monthly charges shall be as follows:. The total number of cans per month for each customer divided by the number of pick-ups per month equals the average number of cans per pick-up.The product of average cans per pick-up and number of pick-ups per week at the rates set out in Section 2 {amended)establishes the monthly charge for each customer."' Section 5.This Ordinance sh~ll'take effect and be in full force from and after'its passage and upon the 1st day of March, 1971,wh.ich is more than five (5)days following it's publication as' required by law.
