Home My WebLink AboutO-0817 - Annexation (Special)\ / v ORDINANCE NO.117 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE ANNEXING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE,WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS Sectlon 1 That on the 13th day of August,1973,there was recelved by the Clty Councll of the Clty of Marysvllle and flIed w~th the Clty Clerk of sald Clty a prel~m~nary Pet~tlon for annexa- tlon,at wh~ch tlme the petltloners and/or thelr authorlzed repre- 5entatlves were present statlng that they were the owners of not less than ten per cent (10%)In value accordlng to the assessed value of the area pet~t~onlng to be annexed,and that they requested a hearlng wlth the Clty Councll of the C~ty of Marysvllle,and such a hearlng was held,at WhlCh tlme lt was determlned that In the event the annexatl0n was approved and adopted,there would be a slmultan- eous adoptlon of the Clty'S comprehenslve plan for the area,and further,that there would be an assumptlon of the eXlstlng lndebted- ness of the Clty by the area to be annexed,whereupon,the petltl0ners flIed a Pet~tlon for Annexatl0n praYlng that the boundarles of sald Clty be altered by lncludlng thereln certaln real property lylng con- tlgUOU5 to the City of Mary5vllle,the legal descrlptlon of WhlCh 15 set forth below,the sald Petltlon havlng been slgned by the owners of property of not less than 75%of the assessed value of all the real property wlthln the descrlbed area That on the 19th day of September,1973,the Clty Clerk of the Clty of Marysvllle certlfled sald prellmlnary petltlon and Petltlon for Annexatlon,and flIed those along wlth the Notlce of Intent~on to Annex wlth the Snohomlsh County Boundary ReVlew Board On the 27th day of November,1973,an Amended Petltlon for Annexatlon changlng the legal descrlptl0n was flIed w~th the Clty of Marysvllle, and the Clty Councll at ltS regular meetlng on the 10th day of December,1973,approved the same,and thereafter was certlfled by the Clerk to the Snohomlsh County Boundary ReVlew Board Sectlon 2 The Snohomlsh County Boundary Revlew Board held a public hearing on March 5,1974,and flIed ltS Flndlngs and Order on March 29,1974,and there has been no appeal of sald Order and the Order was favorable to annexatlon ( 'lo Sectlon 3 Pursuant to Resolutlon No 813,and publlC not1ce as required by law,the Clty held a publ1C hear1ng on the proposed annexat10n on the 22nd day of Apr1l,1974,at 8 00 P m 1n the Clty Counc1l chambers of the Marysv1lle C1ty Hall After the sald publlc hearing,the Counc1l found lt was In the best 1nterests of sa1d C1ty to annex the sa1d property.
