AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE RELAXING
LIMITATIONS ON BILLBOARDS AND AMENDING SECTIONS
16.16.255(d)(2),(3),(5)AND 16.l6.255(h)OF THE
MARYSVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE,WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.Section 16.16.255(d)(2)of the Marysville
Municipal Code is hereby amended to provide as follows:
(2)Billboards shall be not less than 100 feet from an
intersection;provided,that a greater distance may
be required if the City finds that a specific bill-
board at a specific location will obstruct or physi-
cally interfere with a motorist's view of approach-
ing,merging or intersection traffic.
Section 2.Section 16.16.255(d}(3)of the Marysville
Municipal Code is hereby amended to provide as follows:
(3)Billboards shall not be located on railroad right-
of-way.
Section 3.Section l6.l6.255(d)(5)of the Marysville
Municipal Code is hereby amended to provide as follows:
(5)Billboards shall not be less than 15 feet from the
outside edge of the public right-of-way.
Section 4.Section 16.l6.255(h)of the Marysville Muni-
cipal Code is hereby amended to provide as follows:
(h)Non-conforming Billboards.Billboards existing on
January 1,1981,which were in full compliance with
all codes and regulations of the City at said time,
but which do not comply with this chapter,shall be
regarded as non-conforming billboards.Said bill~
boards shall be allowed to continue if properly

repaired and maintained.If such billboards are
structurally altered,relocated or replaced,they
shall lose their non-conforming status;further,
such billboards shall lose their non-conforming
status if a change of use occurs on the underlying
property.A billboard without non-conforming status
shall ~mmediately be removed or brought into com-
pliance with all'current provisions of this chapter ..

relaxing limitations on billboards and
amending·Sections 16.16.255 (d)(2), (3),
(5)and 16.16.255 (h)of the Marysville
Municipal Code.
The City Council of the City of
Marysville,Washington,do ordain as
follows:
Section 1.Section 16.16.255 (d)(2)of the
Marysville Municipal Code is hereby
amended to provide as follows:.
(2)Billboards shall be not less than 100
