HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-1340 - Adds Sec. 16.16.050(t) and 16.16.259 and amends Sec. 16.16.260, sign code (Repealed by 1609)," CIT Y 0 F MAR Y S V ILL E Marysville,Washington ORDINANCE NO.J3L.JO AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE ADDING NEW SECTIONS TO CHAPTER 16.16 REGULATING OFF-PRE~lISE SIGNS AND AMENDING SECTION 16.16.260 OF THE MARYSVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ~~RYSVILLE,WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1.New sections are hereby added to Chapter 16.16 of the Marysville Municipal Code,which shall provide as follows: 16.16.050(t)."Off-Premise sign"means an outdoor adver- tising,informational,directional or identification sign which relates to products,businesses,services or premises not located on or otherwise directly associated with the site on which the sign is erected;except for temporary signs as defined above and in Section 16.16.250. 16.16.259.Off-Premise Signs--Restricted;Exemptions. (a)Off-premise signs shall be permitted only in zones allowing billboards,and on the same terms and conditions as relate to billboards.Provided, that no business permit shall be required for an off-premise sign.Nonconforming off-premise signs shall be governed by the provisions relating to nonconforming billboards. (b)The following off-premise signs shall be exempt from the restrictions of subparagraph (a)above: Informational,regulatory or directional signs of any governmental agency,municipal corporation or nonprofit organization registered with the State of Washington,provided that the same shall be no larger than nine (9)square feet and shall have no artificial illumination.
