'1 ,-.~.• CIT Y 0 F MAR Y S V ILL E Marysville,Washington ORDINANCE NO.'/~30 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE AMENDING CHAPTER 5.60 OF THE MARYSVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO ITINERANT MERCHANTS,AND SECTIONS 5.60.010,5.60.020, and 5.60.030 OF SAID CHAPTER The City Council of the City of Marysville,Washington do ordain as follows: Section 1.Section 5.60.010 of the Marysville Municipal Code is hereby amended to provide as follows: Onirilvited SOlicitation D.ecTared A Nuisance.The practice of going in and upon private residential property of the City of Marysville by solicitors,peddlers,merchants or transient vendors who have not been requested or invited to do so by the owner or occupant of said property,for the purpose of solici- ting sales of goods,wares,merchandise,services or subscip- tions to publications or audio/visual services,is declared to be a public nuisance and punishable as provided in Chapter 6.24 of this Code. Section 2.Section 5.60.020 of the Marysville Municipal Code is hereby amended to provide as follows: Exemption.The following activities are exempt from the provisions of Section 5.60.010: (a)A farmer or gardener selling his own unprocessed farm products raised or grown exclusively upon lands owned or occupied by him. (b)Unpaid solicitors for national or local religious charitable and/or community service organizations with a valid and current nonprofit status which is recognized by the State of Washington 'o~the Internal Revenue Service. (c)Solicitations of cable television subscriptions which are limited to the following time periods: (1)For a period of three months following the issuance by the City of a new or renewed franchise to a cable television operator;and (2)For limit~d periods of time specified by the City Council in connection with special promotions. t ,I• Section 3.Section 5.60.030 of the Marysville Municipal Code is hereby repealed . .Jb PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED by the Mayor this 2.6 day of!Juc;.tJSi:..,1985.
