An Ordinance of the City of Marysville levying taxes upon all
property real, personal and utility subject to taxation within the
corporate limits of the City of Marysville. Washington for the year
2000.
WHEREAS, the City Council has properly given notice of the public
hearing held on December 13, 1999 to consider the City of Marysville Current
Expense Fund Budget for the 2000 calendar year, pursuant to RCW 84.55.120;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council, after hearing, and after duly considering all
relevant evidence and testimony presented, has determined that the City of
Marysville requires an increase in property tax revenue from the previous year, in
addition to the increase resulting from the addition of new construction and
improvements to property and any increase in the value of state assessed
property, in order to discharge the expected expenses and obligations of the City
of Marysville and in its best interest; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Marysville, after hearing and
duly considering all relevant evidence and testimony presented, that due to
continued growth, increased public safety demands, new and potential unfunded
mandates, capital infra-structure requirements, and unreserved unfunded
existing liabilities, the City Council of the City of Marysville finds that there is a
substantial need to increase the regular property tax levy above the rate of
inflation;
NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MARYSVILLE, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. For the year 2000, the amount to be levied for the regular
property levy, in addition to any amount resulting from the addition of new
construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state
assessed property, is hereby authorized in the amount of $3,469,123, which is an
increase of $46,643 and a percentage increase of 1.42 percent from the previous
year; which is the rate of inflation.
Section 2. For the year 2000, the amount of taxes to be levied for
Emergency Medical Services for the City of Marysville is $640,523, which is an
increase of $8,612 and a percentage increase of 1.42% from the previous year,
which is the rate of inflation, based on an assessed valuation of $1,304,777,230

not exceed $.50 per $1,000 of assessed valuation.
Section 3. For the year 2000, the amount of taxes to be levied for
payment of debt service on the City’s Unlimited Tax General Obligation bonds,
1986, which were refunded in 1996, is $233,814.
