CITY OF MARYSVILLE Marysville, Washington ORDINANCE NO.2335 An Ordinance of the City of Marysville levying taxes upon all property real, personal and utility subject to taxation within the corporate limits of the City of Marysville, Washington for the year 2001. WHEREAS, the City Council has properly given notice of the public hearing held on November 13, 2000 to consider the City of Marysville General Fund Budget for the 2001 calendar year, pursuant to RCW 84.55.120; and WHEREAS, the City Council, after hearing, and after duly considering all relevant evidence and testimony presented, has determined that the City of Marysville for the year 2001 adopts the current levy rate plus the assessed value of new construction and improvements to property and the increase in the value of state assessed property, property, in order to discharge the expected expenses and obligations of the City of Marysville and in its best interest; WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Marysville, after hearing and duly considering all relevant evidence and testimony presented, that due to continued growth, increased public safety demands, new and potential unfunded mandates, capital infra-structure requirements, and unreserved unfunded existing liabilities, the City Council of the City of Marysville finds that there is a substantial need to adopt the regular property tax levy as required by law; NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. For the year 2001, the amount to be levied for the regular property levy, in addition to any amount resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state-assessed property, is hereby authorized in the amount of $4,000,023 which includes an increase of 6% as the City of Marysville has a substantial need due to the tremendous growth in annexations and new constructions; therefore, the regular levy rate is $2.8012/$1000 assessed value. Section 2. For the year 2001, the amount of taxes to be levied for Emergency Medical Services for the City of Marysville is $713,986 which is $0.50/$1,000 on assessed value of $1,427,971,629, which assessment is an estimate, and in any event, the total dollar amount will not exceed $0.50 per $1,000 of assessed valuation. Section 3. For the year 2001, the amount of taxes to be levied for payment of debt service on the City's Unlimited Tax General Obligation bonds, 1986, which were refunded in 1996, is $232,910.
