HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-2338 - Increases 2001 tax levy (Special)CITY OF MARYSVILLE Marysville, Washington ORDINANCE NO. 2 33g AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE TO INCREASE THE PROPERTY TAX LEVY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Marysville after having given notice of a public hearing held November 13, 2000, to consider the City’s current expense budget for the 2001 calendar year, pursuant to RCW 84.55.120; WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Marysville, after hearing and after duly considering all relevant evidence and testimony presented, determined that the City of Marysville requires an increase in property tax revenue from the previous year, in addition to that resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state-assessed property, in order to discharge the expected expenses and obligations of the city and in its best interest, and WHEREAS, On November 13,2000 the Marysville City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2335 levying taxes upon all property real. personal and utility subject to taxation within the corporate limits of the city for the year 2001; and WHEREAS, RCW 84.55.120 requires by adoption of a separate ordinance or resolution specific authorization of the increase in property tax revenue stated in terms of both dollars and percentage; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Marysville, Washington, do ordain as follows: Section 1. For the year 2001, the amount to be levied for the regular property levy, in addition to any amount resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state assessed property, is hereby authorized in the amount of 4,000,023, which is an increase of 207,902 which is a percentage increase of six (6) percent from the year 2000.
