Marysville, Washington ORDINANCE ~0.2342 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE READOPTING AND REIMPOSING THE GENERAL FEE STRUCTURE SET FORTH IN MMC 14.07.005A AS ESTABLISHED BY ORDINANCE NO. 2290, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST. WHEREAS, the Marysville City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2290 on October 25, 1999, establishing a general fee structure for various land use, engineering and other municipal activities and services; and WHEREAS, on November 7, 2000 the people of the State of Washington passed Initiative 722‘which becomes effective on December 7, 2000; and WHEREAS, Section 1 of Initiative 722 renders “tax increases” as defined in that Initiative enacted during the period of July 2, 1999 and December 31, 1999 “null and void“; and WHEREAS, the general fee structure of MMC 14.07.005A as adopted pursuant to Ordinance No. 2290 was enacted between this period and set in accordance with the law and the requirements of municipal governance; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The general fee structure as set forth in MMC 14.07.005A as enacted by Ordinance No. 2290 is hereby readopted and reimposed. The provisions of MMC 14.07.005A and Ordinance No. 2290 are incorporated by this reference as if fully set forth herein. Section .2. Emerqencv/Effective Date. A public emergency is hereby declared necessary for the protection of public health, public safety, and public property. This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its adoption. Section 3. Severabilitv. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this ordinance should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality thereof shall not affect the validity or ORDINANCE - 1 /wpf/mV/genf€X?.Qrd constitutionality of any other section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this ordinance. this &.M\ day of December, 2000.
