AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE
AMENDING MMC 11.08.170 RELATING TO MOVING
AND REPARKING VEHICLES TO AVOID TIME LIMIT
REGULATIONS
WHEREAS,the current language in MMC 11.08.170 is unclear and leads to problematic
enforcement results; and
WHEREAS,the City has been approached by citizens asking that the City Council act to
change the section; and
WHEREAS,the City Council desires to clarify this section and make it more workable;
NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
MMC 11.08.170,which reads as follows:
11.08.170 Moving Vehicle in Same Block
No person shall move and stand or repark a vehicle on a city street within the same block.
For purposes ofthis section, said standing or parking ofa vehicle shall be deemed
continuous and in violation ofthis section despite any movement ofsaid vehicle unless
said vehicle is moved sufficiently to pass through or across a street intersection.
Is hereby amended to read as follows:
11.08.170 Moving and Reparking Vehicles to Avoid Parking Time Regulation
No person shall move and repark a vehicle on either side ofa street within the same block
to avoid a parking time limit regulation specified for either side ofthe street in that
particular block.
Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effective five (5) days after
publication.
