AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE,
WASHINGTON AMENDING MARYSVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE
SUBSECTIONS 2.51.040(1)AND (2)RELATING TO THE DUTIES
OF THE SALARY COMMISSION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE,WASHINGTON DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. MMC 2.5I.040(I) is hereby amended to read as follows:
"2.51.040 Duties.
(I)The commission shall have the duty to meet annually between January I and
March 3I commencing the year 2007; to review the salaries paid by the city to each
elected city official.If after such review the commission determines that the salary
paid to any elected city official should be increased or decreased,the commission shall
file a written salary schedule with the city clerk indicating the increase or decrease in
salary."
Section 2. MMC 2.5I.040(2) is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(2) Any increase or decrease in salary established by the commission shall become
effective and incorporated into the city budget for the balance ofthe current year and
thereafter,until revised,without further action ofthe city councilor Salary
Commission.Any change in the meeting reimbursement amount may become
effective immediately."
Section 3.Severability.If any section,subsection,sentence,clause,phrase or word of
this ordinance should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent
jurisdiction,such invalidity or unconstitutionality thereofshall not affect the validity or
constitutionality ofany other section,subsection,sentence,clause,phrase or word ofthis
ordinance.
