AN ORDINANCE 01,'TilE CITY OF MARYSVILLE,
WASlIINGTON,AMENDING MARYSVILLE MUNICIPAL
CODE (MMC)CHAPTER 2.24 BY ADDI'IG A NEW SECTION
2.24,055 PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A
COURT COMMISSIONER.
WHEREAS,in light of the growth of the City and increased demands on the
Marysville Municipal Court,the City Council intends to encourage greater flexibility,efficiency
and accountability in adjudicating enforcement of the Marysville Municipal Code; and
'WlIEREAS,pursuant to RCW 3.50.075 the Marysville Municipal Court Judge,
may appoint the position of municipal court commissioner for the Municipal Court of the City of
Marysville:and
WHEREAS,Due to increased court filings and case loads the City Council finds
that the court and the public will benefit [rom the judge having authority to appoint court
commissioners;and
NOW,TIIEREFORE,THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE,
WASHINGTON,DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.MMC Chapter 2.24 is hereby amended by adding a new Section 2.24.055
which shall read as follows:
2.24.055 Municipal Court Commissioner -Qualifications -Appointment I
Adoption of RCW 3.50.075 by reference.
The provisions of RCW 3 50.075 are hereby adopted and incorporated by
reference.
Section 2.Severabilitv.
If any section,sentence,clause or phrase of this ordinance should be held to be invalid or
unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction,such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall
not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section,sentence,clause or phrase of this
ordinance.

Section 3.Effective Date.
This ordinance, shall take effect five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved
summary thereofconsisting ofthe title.
