An Ordinance of the City of Marysville levying EMS taxes upon all property
real,personal and utility SUbject to taxation within the corporate limits of
the City of Marysville,Washington for the year 2008.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Marysville has met and considered its
budget for the calendar year 2008 and has held public hearings on October 23, 2007,
October 25,2007 and November 13, 2007; and
WHEREAS, the City of Marysvilie's actual levy amount from the previous year
was $1,268,017.00;and,
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Marysville is more than 10,000; and
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Marysvilie Do Ordain as
Follows: After hearing and after duly considering all relevant evidence and testimony
presented, the City Council has determined that the City of Marysville requires a EMS
levy in the amount of $1,550,000.00, which includes an increase in property tax revenue
from the previous year, and amounts resulting from the addition of new construction and
improvements to property and any increase in the value of state-assessed property, and
amounts authorized by law as a result of any annexations that have occurred and
refunds made, in order to discharge the expected expenses and obligations of the City.
Section 1: An increase in the EMS property tax levy is hereby authorized for the
levy to be collected in the 2008 tax year. The dollar amount of the increase over the
actual levy amount from the previous year shall be $12,680.00 which is a percentage
increase of 1%from the previous year. This increase is exclusive of additional revenue
resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any
increase in the value of state assessed property, and any additional amounts resulting
from any annexations that have occurred and refunds made.
