ORDINANCE NO. 3 0 /6
An Ordinance of the City of Marysville determining substantial need related to the
levying EMS taxes upon all property real , personal and utility subject to taxation
within the corporate limits of the City of Marysville, Washington for the year 2016 .
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Marysville has met and considered its
budget for the calendar year 2016; and
WHEREAS, the Implicit Price Deflator is less than 1 % and,
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Marysville is more than 10,000;
WHEREAS, on November 23, 2015 a public hearing was held by the Marysville
City Council to consider public comment concerning the real property tax levy amount
proposed by this ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE , DO
ORDA~N AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. After hearing and duly considering all relevant evidence and
testimony presented at a public hearing duly noticed and held on November 23 , 2015,
the City Council finds that due to the need to maintain current levels of service , general
maintenance, and other operational expenses, there is a substantial need to increase
the property tax limit factor above the rate of inflation and that the levy limit should be
set at one hundred one percent (101 %).
