ORDINANCE NO. 3 (J ~ ~
An Ordinance of the City of Marysville levying EMS taxes upon all property real,
personal and utility subject to taxation within the corporate limits of the City of
Marysville, Washington for the year 2018.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Marysville has met and considered
options for funding Emergency Medical Services for the calendar year 2018; and
WHEREAS, the City of Marysville's actual levy amount from the previous year
was $2,484,204.17 and,
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Marysville is more than 10,000;
WHEREAS, on May 8, 2017 a public hearing was held by the Marysville City
Council to consider public comment concerning the real property tax levy amount
proposed by this ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . After hearing and duly considering all relevant evidence and
testimony presented at a public hearing duly noticed and held on May 8, 2017, the City
Council has determined that the City of Marysville requires an increase in the EMS
property tax levy from the previous year, in addition to that resulting from the addition of
new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state-
assessed property, and amounts authorized by law as a result of any annexations that

have occurred and refunds made, in order to discharge the expected expenses and
obligations of the City.
Section 2: The dollar amount of the increase over the actual EMS property tax
levy amount from the previous year shall be $397,096.82 which is a percentage
increase of 15.9849 percent (15.9849%) from the previous year. This increase is
exclusive of additional revenue resulting from new construction , improvements to
property, newly constructed wind turbines, solar, biomass, and geothermal facilities, and
any increase in the value of state assessed property, any annexations that have
occurred and refunds made.
