RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF WE TOWN OF MARYSVILLE,RELATING
TO RENT CONTROL:
WHEREAS,at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Marysville held on May 16th,1949,a delegation of citizens
of the Town of Marysville requested the Town Council to hold a hear-
ing for the purpose of determining whether or not there exists within
the corporate limits of the ~own of Marysville such a shortage in
rental housing accommodations as to require the continuation of rent
control within the incorporated limits of said town,and
WHEREAS,on said date the Council voted to hold such a
public hearing,In d
WHEREAS,the attached notice of the date,time,plate and
purpose of such public hearing was 'published once in the Marysville
Globe newspaper,a newspaper of general circulation published and
circulated weekly in the Town of Marysville,as shown by the affida-
vit of publication attached hereto,marked Exhibit "A",and made a
part hereof as though fully set forth herein,and
WHEREAS,the attached notice was posted in at Le s.s t three
public places within the corporate limite of the Town of Marysville
on the 17th day of May,1949,as shown by the affidavit of posting
attached hereto as Exhibit liB",and made a part hereof as though
fully set forth herein,In d
WHEREAS,the ~'own Council of the Town of Marysville held
a-pub;L-i,'G-hearing on June.6,1949,at the hour of 8 :00 o'clock P.M.
at the Council Chambers of the Town Co unc Ll,of the 'l'own of Marys-
ville,in the Town Hall in said town,all as set forth in said
Notice,and
WHEREAS,at such public hearing all interested persons
were given an opportunity to be heard,with the right to be repres-
ented by axnsel,either for or against the propositions contained

and set forth in said notice,and
WHEREAS,at said public he ar Lrg there appeared twelve
citizens of the Town of Marysville,each of whom took the floor
and requested that Federal rent controls be terminated within the
co rpor-a te limits of the Town of Marysville,and
WHEREAS,there was no person present whatever who objec-
ted to the termination of Federal Rent Control within the corporate
limits of said Town,and
WHEREAS,the Town Council of the Town of Marysville having
heard all persons for or against the proposition did find as a fact
that there does not exist wi thin t hs corporate limits of the Town of
Marysville such a shortage in rental housing accommodations as to
require the continuation of rent control within said town,and the
Town Council having duly considered all of the evidence presented
at such hearing and there being no objections whatever to the ter-
mination of Federal Rent Control,
NOW THEREFORE:
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARYSVILLE,acting
pursuant to the authority vested in said town Council by Section
204 (j)(3)of the :tIHousing and Rent Act of 1949"as contained
in Chapter 42 of Public Law 31,Laws of the Slst Congress -1st
Session,does hereby find as a fact that there no longer exists
within the corporate limits of the Town of Marysville such a short-
age of rental and housing accommodations as to require rent control
within such town and DOES FURTHER RESOLVE that Federal Rent Control
~Twithinthecorporatelimitsoftheown of Marysville be discon-
tinued,and
DOES FURTHER RESOLVE that a certified copy of the
within Resolution,together with the Exhibits attached hereto,
be forwarded to the Governor of the State of Washington,request-
ing that the Governor concur with and approve the within Resolution.
