A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE
PERTAINING TO CONSERVATION OF ELECTRICAL
ENERGY
WHEREAS,the necessity for conservation of electrical
energy is clear;and
WHEREAS,leadership by positive action of local governments
is essential to the best conservation of electrical energy,
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MARYSVILLE AS FOLLOWS:
'Section 1.That conservation of electrical energy is a
necessity for the public health,safety and welfare.
Section 2.That all the departments of the City of Marys-
ville shall m1n1m1ze all electrical use for any purpose..
Seetion 3.That each department shall use such electricity
as is essential for practical operation,
Section 4.That street lighting on State Avenue shall be
reduced to the m1n1mum recommended level.
Section 5.That street lighting on all other streets than
State Avenue shall remain in order to best serve the safety and
security of the people of Marysville.

Section 6.That the individuals,businesses and general
public are encouraged and hereby are requested to eliminate non-
essential forms of- Li.ght i.ng.,examples of which are as follows:

a.Decorative lighting;
_'.'b .Floodlights;
,j I,c:.',Advertising and Commercial signs;
d.Display window lighting;
e.Outdoor Chr~stmas lighting;
','f.Porch lights and post lanterns;
g.Parking lot,storage,or other area lighting
L "above minimal levels;
h.Lobby,hallway',warehouse,and storeroom
lighting'above minimal levels;
i.Lighting in unoccupied offices or rooms,except
'where minimual security is required;
j.General illumination in excess of minimum
~recommended levels.
