Section 1.The City of Marysville does he~eby adopt as part of its operatlon a positive safety inspection,education and administration program to be promoted and'cafried otit .in the manner described in this resolution. THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE AS FOLLOWS: Section 2. The Fire Chief of the City of Marysville shall be charged with the administration of the Marysville Safety Program, and his duties shall include but not necessarily be limited to the following: (a)He shall familiarize himself with all State and Federal laws pertaining to the occupational Safety and Health Act,and the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act of 1973. (b)He is delegated to attend such safety schools and seminars reasonably accessible to hi~,and make every effort to keep himself informed of current safety practices and problems. (c)He shall be the duly authorized representative of the City of Marysville as a member of the Evergreen Safety Council. Cd)He shall each month inspect any work place of any employee of the City of Marysville,including all equipment owned and/or operated by the City,and account monthly to the City Council regarding such inspections until further notice. .~. (e)He shall each month hold a meeting with the City Employees to review safety practices,inspections and the correction of any known or suspected de- ficiencies;review any and all accidents and injuries,or near accidents or near injuries,and recommend methods to prevent the reoccurrence or prevention thereof;arrange for attendance at such meetings by qualified safety experts to further educate the employees of the City;and maintain safety inspections,records and corrections as may be required by Federal and State authorities chargeable therewith. (f)He shall give progress reports each month to the City Administrator concerning his activities as related to his duties and responsibilities hereunder. S~ction 3. The Fire Chief shall,with the cooperation of the City Adm~n~strator,recommend for adoption such ordinances that will reasonably be required in order to administer and enforce the industrial safety and health of the employees of the City of Marysville. Section 4.A copy of this Resolution shall be personally served on each and every employee of the City of Marysville,each of whom are hereby notified that a willful or negligent failure to attend any safety meeting,observe 'any safety or health regulation of the City,State or Federal'government,shall cons ti tute good and sufficient cause for dismissal .or such other disciplinary sanction which may be warranted by the'City. ~.' this 11/ ADOPTED by day of HtheCityCouncilof the 9~,1974. 1/ I ~,j City o~Marysville '.
