RESOLUTION NO.~
A Resolution of the City of Marysville adopting
the Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan for
Snohomish County,with certain conditions.
WHEREAS,the State of Washington has legislated a Solid
Waste Management Act under RCW 70.95,such Act requiring all counties
and cities to prepare a Solid Waste Management Plan including those
matters set forth in RCW 70.95.090;and
WHEREAS,under said statute two or more cities may prepare
a plan for inclusion in the county plan;and
WHEREAS,the City of Marysville and the City of Arlington
authorized the county to prepare a plan for their cities'solid waste
management for inclusion in the Comprehensive County Plan;and
WHEREAS,Snohomish County has prepared a Comprehensive
Solid Waste Management Plan in compliance with said statute,said plan
recognizing the desires of the cities of Marysville and Arlington to
jointly plan for,operate and maintain a sanitary landfill site for
the exclusive use of the two cities rather than utilize the landfill
services of Snohomish County,and it is deemed desirable that said
cities formally approve said plan;Now,Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Marysville does hereby adopt
tIle Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan for Snohomish County,
with the following conditions:
1.That the cities of Marysville and Arlington shall
jo~n~ly determine the estimated cost of designing,operating and maln-
talnlng the Arlington/Marysville sanitary landfill in accordance with
RCW 70.95.
2.That said cities shall,so long as they jointly agree
to d?so,continue to operate and maintain such landfill under such
permlt or permits as may be required until such time as the estimated
cost of compliance with.RCW 70.95 is determined .

3.That when the estimated cost of operating and maln-
taining the Arlington/MarysviHe,"Xandfi'll is availahle,the cities of
Arlington and Marysville\.shalJ'joihtlY assess the economic feasi-
bility of such a joint opeiiiion,-and if such joint operation is not
economically feasible"then,unless one of said cities should upon the
