Home My WebLink AboutR-1160 - Declaring its intention to order the improvement of a portion of 64th Street Northeast and to create a local improvement district to assess the cost aCITY OF MARYSVILLE,WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO.JUL6Q A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Marysville,Washington,declaring its intention to order the improvement of a portion of 64th Street Northeast and to create a local improvement district to assess the cost and expense of carrying out such improvements against the properties specially bene- fited thereby,and notifying all persons who desire to object to the improvements to appear and present their objections at a hearing before the City Council to be held on April 8,1985. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE,WASHINGTON,as follows: Section 1.It is the intention of the City Council of the City of Marysville,Washington.to order the improvement of the properties within the area described in Exhibit A,attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof,by the recon- struction of the roadway to a 56 foot width,installation of concrete curbs and gutters,a five foot concrete sidewalk on both sides of the road and a storm drainage system,right-of-way acquisiton,and illumination on 64th Street NE from approxi- mately 150 feet west of 53rd Avenue NE (Clayton Street)to approximatey 200 feet east of 67th Avenue NE •. All of the foregoing improvements shall be in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor prepared by Hammond, Collier &Wade -Livingstone Associates,Inc.,consulting engi- neers of the City,and may be modified by the City as long as such modification does not affect the purpose of the improvement. Section 2.The total estimated cost and expense of the improvements is declared to be $898,000 and the entire cost and expense of such improvements shall be borne by and assessed against the property specially benefited by such improvements to be included in a local improvement district to be established I embracing as nearly as practicable all the property specially benefited by the improvements. Section 3.All persons who may desire to object to the improvements described herein are notified to appear and present such objections at a hearing before the City Council to be held in the Marysville City Library,4820 72nd Street Northwest (Grove)in Marysville,Washington,at 8 :00 p.m.on April a, 1985,which time and place are fixed for hearing all matters relating to the proposed improvements and all objections thereto and for determining the method of payment for those improvements. All persons who may desire to object thereto should appear and present their objections at such hearing.Any person who may desire to file a written protest with the City Council may do so within thirty days after the date of passage of the ordinance ordering the improvement in the event the local improvement district is formed.Such written protest should be signed by the property owner and should include the legal description of the property for which the protest is filed and such protest should be delivered to the City Clerk. Section 4.The City Clerk is directed to give notice of such hearing by publication of this resolution of intention in at least two consecutive issues of the official newspaper of the City,or,if there is no official newspaper,in a newspaper of general circulation in the City,with the date of first pUblica- tion to be at least fifteen days prior to the date of such hearing;and to mail a notice of such hearing to the owners or reputed owners of property in the proposed assessment district, as shown on the tax rolls of the County Assessor at the address shown thereon,at least fifteen days prior to such hearing.The notice shall set forth the nature of the proposed improvement, the total estimated cost,the portion of the total cost to be borne by the assessments,the estimated amount of the cost and -2 - expense of such improvement to be borne by the particular lot. tract or parcel and the date and place of the hearing. Section 5.Hammond.Collier &Wade -Livingstone Associates,Inc.is directed to submit to the City Council on or prior to April 8.1985,all data and information required by law to be submitted.
