A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE AGREEING TO PAR-
TICIPATE WITH OTHER MUNICIPALITIES IN SNOHOMISH COUNTY
ON A JOINT SLUDGE MANAGEMENT PLANNING COMMITTEE
WHEREAS,sewage sludge management is a growing problem in
Snohomish County;and
WHEREAS,there are approximately eighteen (18)jurisdictions
with similar disposal problems;and
WHEREAS,there is general awareness of the need for consol-
idated sludge management planning in Snohomish County and there
has been,to address the issue,an initial positive response to
the use of a technical committee;and
WHEREAS,the technical committee will consist of individuals
involved with waste water treatment,sludge disposal,and sludge
management for cities,towns and sewer districts in Snohomish
County;and
WHEREAS,the County agrees to provide logistical support to
the technical committee;and
WHEREAS,the technical committee will address technical needs
to sludge management and will formulate proposals for additional
planning;and
WHEREAS,the committee will forward proposals to the Snohomish
Sub-Regional Council of the Puget Sound Council of Governments for
policy guidance;NOW,THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Marysville,
Washington concurs with the approach outlined above and will par-
ticipate in joint sludge management planning discussions of the
committee by appointing Bill Butler,Public Works Director,as
the City's representative to the Technical Committee On Sludge
Management.
