CIT Y 0 F MAR Y S V ILL E Marysville,Washington RESOLUTION NO.1.$""3:3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE AUTHORIZING THE REMOVAL OF ON-STREET PARKING ON THE NORTH AND SOUTH SIDES OF FOURTH STREET FROM STATE TO COLUMBIA,SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS. WHEREAS,the Washington State Department of Transportation proposes to make certain improvements on SR 528 from the 1-5 interchange to Columbia Avenue;and WHEREAS,the construction of such improvements will necessitate removal of on-street parking on the north and south sides of Fourth Street from State to Columbia;and WHEREAS,the City Council is concerned about the impacts of the construction project on business that may be affected by the construction project,inclUding those which rely upon the on- street parking on Fifth Street between State and Columbia;and WHEREAS,the city Council is concerned about the impacts of the proposed street improvements may have on businesses due to the proposal by the State Department of Transportation to limit left turn movements onto and off of SR 528;NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE,WASHINGTON,AS FOLLOWS: 1.The city Council hereby approves the elimination of parking on the north and south sides of Fourth Street between State Street and Columbia in connection with the street improvement project proposed by the State Department of Transportation on SR 528 between the 1-5 interchange and Columbia Avenue. 2.city staff is directed to pursue the viability of reopening Fifth Street between Delta and Cedar and,as such,the City shall amend the six-year traffic plan to include this project and to research sources of funding to accomplish the same. 3.The City staff is hereby directed to explore all viable alternatives for the provision of off-street parking to replace the parking eliminated as a result of the SR 528 project. 4.The City staff is hereby directed to schedule public hearings to receive pUblic testimony concerning the reopening of Fifth Street between Delta and Cedar,the amendment of the six- RESOLUTION - 1 year traffic plan,the provision of off-street parking and the financing of the same. £/PASSED by_the ~ty Council and APPROVED by the Mayor this (0'-'1 day of ~,1992.
