HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-1735 - Amending City of Marysville personnel rules, Chapter VI, Section 6, preference given to existing employeesCITY OF MARYSVILLE Marysville,Washington RESOLUTION NO.173> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE AMENDING CITY OF MARYS- VILLE PERSONNEL RULES, CHAPTER VI, SECTION 6, PREFERENCE GIVEN TO EXISTING EMPLOYEES. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE, WASHINGTON, THAT CHAPTER VI, SECTION 6 OF THE MARYSVILLE PERSONNEL RULES IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 6.PREFERENCE GIVEN TO EXISTING EMPLOYEES: Whenever a vacancy occurs in a full-status job position, then existing City employees shall be given first consideration for filling the vacancy, based upon their length of service with the City and their ability to perform the duties of the job. Among the City employees who apply for a job position, the following priorities of consideration shall be observed: 1sl: Regular full-status employees. 2nd: Regular status part-time employees (see Chapter VII, Section 29). 3rd: First time probationary employees. 4th: Employees hired pursuant to special or limited funding for identified projects of definite (although extended) duration. (Excludes casual or seasonal employees.)
