A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE STATING ITS INTENTION TO
APPLY FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR ONE OUTDOOR
RECREATION/BOATING FACILITY AND TWO WASHINGTON WILDLIFE
RECREATION PROGRAM PROJECTS.
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Marysville,
Washington has approved a "Comprehensive Park and Recreation
Plan"for the urban area which identifies a boating access
facility,regional athletic park in north Marysville,and a
community park in south Marysville;and
WHEREAS,under the provisions of the Marine Recreation Land
Act and the Washington wildlife Recreation Program,state and
federal funding assistance has been authorized and made available
to aid in financing the cost of land for parks and habitat
conservation areas and the construction of outdoor recreation
facilities of local public bodies;and
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Marysville
considers it in the best public interest to acquire and develop
said community and regional parks located within the City's
service area;NOW,THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MARYSVILLE,WASHINGTON AS FOLLOWS:
1.That the Mayor and/or the Director of Parks and
Recreation be authorized to make formal application to the
Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for funding
assistance.
2.That any funding assistance so received be used for the
acquisition of land for a regional athletic facility in north
Marysville and a community park facility in south Marysville,and
the acquisition and development of land for use as a boating
access facility located on Ebey Slough.
3.That the City's share of the projects will be derived
from Growth Management funds and/or General Fund dedications.
4.The city of Marysville does hereby certify that the
City is responsible to support all non-cash commitments to the
local share should they not materialize.
5.That any property acquired and facility developed with
financial aid through the Interagency Committee for Outdoor
Recreation be placed in use as an outdoor recreation facility and

be retained in such use in perpetuity unless otherwise provided
and agreed to by the City Council,the Interagency Committee for
Outdoor Recreation,and any affected federal agency.
6.That this resolution become part of a formal
application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation.
7.That adequate notification has been given and the
opportunity provided for public input and that the published
notices have identified affected floodplains and/or wetlands,if
applicable.
8.That the conceptual site plans have been reviewed by
the local governing body.
9.That the City of Marysville does hereby certify that
the City is negotiating for the ownership of the land for the
proposed development projects,and based on current knowledge
provides assurance there are no encumbrances on the land which
would restrict the recreation use of the land as proposed in the
City's application.
PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED by the Mayor this
