A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE
REGARDING THE REMOVAL AND ESTABLISHMENT
OF STOP SIGNS AT THE INTERSECTION OF ALDER
AVENUE AND FIRST STREET.
WHEREAS,Marysville Municipal Code 11.16.010 authorizes the City Council to
establish regulatory signs and zones for parking and use of the public right-of-way;and
WHEREAS,the City's Traffic Safety Committee has reviewed the intersection of
Alder Avenue and First Street and recommends that the stop signs on Alder Avenue be
removed and a stop sign be placed on 1st Street. This will allow the intersection to
function as a typical T-intersection;and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the citizens to
remove the stop signs on Alder Avenue and establish a stop sign on 1st Street; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE,
WASHINGTON AS FOLLOWS:
1. Remove the stop signs located on Alder Avenue at the intersection of Alder
Avenue and First Street.
2. Establish a stop sign on 1st Street at the intersection of Alder Avenue and
First Street.
3.All regulatory signs and street markings that are inconsistent with this
resolution are hereby repealed.
PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED by the Mayor this 25th day of
August, 1997.
