A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE STATING ITS INTENTION TO
APPLY FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR AN AQUATIC LANDS ENHANCEMENT
ACCOUNT PROJECT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES.
WHEREAS,under the provisions of Chapter 79.24.580,RCW,state funding assistance
has been authorized and made available to aid in financing the cost of land and the
construction of facilities for public access to, and enhancement of,state-owned aquatic
lands, and
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Marysville considers it in the best interest to
develop city owned property into a waterfront park located on Ebey Slough,afl6
NOW THEREFORE NE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of MarySVille,
Washington:
1.That the Mayor and/or Director of Parks and Recreation be authorized to make
formal application to the Department of Natural Resources,
2. That any fund assistance so received be used in the development of 5.4 acres of city
owned land located on Ebey Slough,
3. That the city's fifty percent (50%) matching share for the project will be derived from
the Growth Management Fund and possible grant assistance from the Interagency
Committee for Outdoor Recreation (lAC) as well as community contributions,prior to
the execution of this agreement,
4. That any developed facilities financed through the Aquatic Lands Enhancement
Account be maintained by the city for 25 years or longer,
5. That this Resolution become a part of a formal application to the Department of
Natural Resources, and
6. That adequate notification has been given and opportunity for public input.
