HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-1997 - Stating its intention to apply for funding assistance for a boating facilities project to the interagency committee for outdoor recreation as provdide,• .,r~ \'j l' CITY OF MARYSVILLE Marysville,Washington RESOLUTION NO. /1Cf 7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE STATING ITS INTENTION TO APPLY FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR A BOATING FACILITIES PROJECT TO THE INTERAGENCY COMMITTEE FOR OUTDOOR RECREATION AS PROVIDED IN CHAPTER 43.99 RCW, BOATING FACILITIES PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Marysville, Washington has approved a "Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Plan" for the urban area which identifies a boating access facility in south Marysville;and WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Boating Facilities Program, state and federal funding assistance has been requested to aid in financing the cost of land and facilities; and WHEREAS, the City of Marysville considers it in the best public interest to develop a boating facility on City-owned property located on Ebey Slough; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE,WASHINGTON AS FOLLOWS: I. That the Mayor and/or Director of Parks and Recreation be authorized to make formal application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for funding assistance. 2. That any fund assistance received be used for the development of the Ebey Slough waterfront park.. 3. That the City of Marysville anticipates its share of the project will be derived from Growth Management funds and /01'General Fund dedications and other grant in aid funding sources. 4. The City of Marysville acknowledges that they must support all non-cash commitments to the local share should they not materialize. 5. The City of Marysville acknowledges that any property acquired or facility developed with lAC financial aid must be placed in use as an outdoor recreation facility and be retained in such use in perpetuity unless otherwise provided and agreed to by the City of Marysville,lAC and any affected federal agency. 6. That this resolution becomes a part of a formal application to the lAC. .T.l,) 7. That the City of Marysville provided appropriate opportunity for public comment on this application. 8. That the conceptual site plans have been reviewed by the local governing body.
