A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE STATING ITS INTENTION TO
ANNEX CERTAIN UNINCORPORATED AREA, KNOWN AS 1-5 WEST, INTO THE
CITY, AND TRANSMlnlNG THE MAnER TO THE SNOHOMISH COUNTY
BOUNDARY REVIEW BOARD FOR APPROVAL.
WHEREAS,the City of Marysville has received a petition for
annexation of certain property located north of 156th Street NE,
west of Interstate 5,east of Burlington Northern Railroad
tracks,and south of 164th Street NE,said property being
contiguous to the city limits and legally described in Exhibit A
attached hereto;and
WHEREAS,on April 24,2001 the Marysville Planing Commission
held a public hearing to consider a prezone for the Exhibit A
property and recommended approval of said prezone to Medium
Density,Single-Family (R-4.5),subject to the conditions that
annexation of the area be deferred until the subarea plan for
Lakewood/Smokey Point Area and a Workforce Allocation Study for
the Marysville Police Department are completed;and
WHEREAS,a duly advertised public hearing was held on said
annexation petition and prezone before the Marysville City
Council on July 23,2001,and the City Council heard testimony
from staff,the applicant and the public,and was fully advised
in the premises;NOW,THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MARYSVILLE,WASHINGTON,AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.The property described in Exhibit A is hereby
approved for annexation into the City of Marysville and shall be
so annexed by ordinance of the City of Marysville upon receipt of
a favorable decision/report from the Snohomish County Boundary
Review Board and completion of the Lakewood/Smokey Point Subarea
Plan and a Workforce Allocation Study for the Marysville Police
Department.
Section 2.Upon annexation of the property described in
Exhibit A,it shall be assessed and taxed at the same rate and on
the same basis as other property within the City of Marysville,
including assessments or taxes for the payment of its pro rata
share and all outstanding indebtedness of the City contracted or
incurred prior to or existing on the effective date of the
annexation.

Section 3.Upon annexation of the property described in
Exhibit A,the Zoning and Comprehensive Plan designation of
Medium Density,Single-Family (R-4.5)shall apply to said
property.
Section 4.The City Planner is hereby authorized to
transmit a County Assessor's map,or other appropriate map,and
all files on this annexation proceeding to the Snohomish County
Boundary Review Board for consideration and review.

That portion of the Southeast Quarter and the Southwest
Quarter of Section 29,Township 31 North,Range 5 East,
W.M.in Snohomish County,Washington,and the Northeast
Quarter and the Northwest Quarter of Section 32,
Township 31 North,Range 5 East,W.M.described as
follows:
BEGINNING at the center of said Section 29;thence
Easterly along the North line of said Southeast Quarter
of Section 29,to the easterly margin of S.R.5 (PSH
No.1),and the city limits line of the City of
Marysville;thence Southerly along the said easterly
margin to the southerly margin of 156th Street NE
(Fidelity Hall Road);thence Westerly along said
southerly margin to the easterly margin of the
Burlington Northern Railroad Right-of-Way;thence
Northwesterly along said easterly margin to the north
line of said Southwest Quarter of Section 29;thence
Easterly along said north line to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.
