A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST AND
AUTHORIZING AN EMERGENCY PURCHASE OF
MOTOR FOR THE CEDARCREST RESERVOIR BOOSTER
PUMP STATION.
A.WHEREAS, on September 26, 2001, a pump failure occurred at
the Cedarcrest Reservoir Booster Pump Station; and
B. WHEREAS, the Cedarcrest Reservoir Booster Pump Station
consists of three 150 hp Byron Jackson pumps. It is imperative that all pumps
are functional as it is a major supply for the City's utility service area; and
C. WHEREAS, the Cedarcrest Reservoir source also provides the
necessary fire flow and pressure throughout our service area; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MARYSVILLE, WASHINGTON AS FOLLOWS:
1. An emergency exists, and the public health, safety and welfare
would suffer material injury or damage by delay, and such emergency is now
hereby proclaimed.
2. The existence of such emergency, and the facts constituting the
emergency, are set out in subparagraphs A through C above in this Resolution.
3. The City Council does hereby waive the public bidding to purchase
a pump/motor for the Cedarcrest Reservoir Booster Pump Station.
4. The Council directs staff to purchase one 150 hp Byron Jackson
motor from a qualified dealer.
