HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2056 - Honoring Jim Brennick, Councilmember... ,~,-.,~ l"Ci.lf~~(JR,'TEI),~~ CITY OF MARYSVILLE Marysville, Washington RESOLUTION NO,2050 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE HONORING JIM BRENNICK,COUNCILMEMBER WHEREAS,JIM BRENNICK served the City of Marysville as an elected member of the City Council from November, 1999 through December, 2001; and WHEREAS, the City gratefully acknowledges the benefits which it has received from Councilmember Brennick's dedication to public service, and desires to memorialize Council member Brennick's accomplishments by means of this Resolution; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE,WASHINGTON,hereby commends and honors Jim Brennick for the following outstanding achievements during his term of office: 1. Public Safety: Through his efforts on the Police Advisory Committee he provided support and encouragement to the Police Department in building a professionally qualified,competent and efficient department. 2. Public Facilities: During his tenure, the City made the following improvements to the City's public facilities - constructed golf course pro shop, new restaurant facility, and a new 800 MHZ Communication System. 3. Parks and Recreation: Through the remodel of Cedarcrest Golf Course, Pro Shop and restaurant, and acquisition of Skateboard Park and numerous other parks as well as continued dedication and support of the Parks and Recreation programs Councilmember Brennick has enhanced quality of life in Marysville. 4. Public Street and Utilities: A wide-range of public street and utilities projects were undertaken during Councilmember Brennick's years of dedication to the Ci~of Marysville. These include but are not limited to SR 528 Improvements, 88t Street N.E. Improvements, and State Avenue Improvements. 5.Interlocal Cooperation:During his term in office Councilmember Brennick helped usher in a new era of cooperation between the City of Marysville and surrounding jurisdictions through the implementation of numerous and wide- ranging interlocal agreements. 6.Boards &Committees:Councilmember Brennick has been the City's representative to many boards and committees during his tenure as Councilmember.These include Golf Course Committee,Hotel/Motel Committee,Marysville Television Advisory Committee,Police Advisory Committee,and Utilities Committee. 7.Financial Stability:Throughout a period of increasing pressure on public finances,Councilmember Brennick has assisted the City in maintaining sound fiscal policies which have resulted in financial stability.
