Home My WebLink AboutR-2100 - Confirming its commitment to develop a stimulus package to encourage Economic Development within the City of Marysvillenc:~k.~, ~..~ CITY OF MARYSVILLE Marysville,Washington RESOLUTION NO.~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE CONFIRMING ITS COMMITMENT TO DEVELOP A STIMULUS PACKAGE TO ENCOURAGE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE CITY OF MARYSVLLE. WHEREAS,the City of Marysville has completed a study conducted by Gardner Johnson,LLC to determine the economic impacts of the Quil Ceda Village development on the City of Marysville; and WHEREAS,as a result of the economic impact study Gardner Johnson, LLC completed an Economic Development Plan for Business Retention, Expansion and Attraction;and WHEREAS,the City has commissioned five committees to work with the Council and staff to further develop the economic development implementation plan; NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE,WASHINGTON AS FOLLOWS: 1. The City Council agrees to pledge cooperation on economic development projects within its jurisdiction and work toward solutions to issues that place roadblocks on potential development that will provide favorable economic stimulus for the citizen of Marysville. 2.Provide support to the five economic development committees,i.e., Image & Identity,Business Retention/Attraction,Land Use/Permitting, Workforce Education,and Tourism/Recreation. 3. Pledge swift action on recommendations brought forward by the economic development committees. 4.Consider a budget amendment authorizing allocation of city funds for the purpose of implementation of the economic development committee recommendations. 5. Agree to think "outside the box" and develop partnerships that encourage economic development and benefit the taxpayers. 6. The City Council encourages each of the five committees to provide at least one action item within the next 90 days for the City Council to take under consideration.
