A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYVILLE STATING ITS INTENTION
TO ANNEX AND ZONE A CERTAIN UNINCORPORATED AREA, KNOWN
AS THE HOUVENER ANNEXATION,INTO THE CITY, AND
TRANSMITTING THE MATTER TO THE SNOHOMISH COUNTY
BOUNDARYREVIEWBOARD FOR APPROVAL
'WHEREAS,the Cityof Marysville has received a petition for annexation of certain property
generally located north of Grove Street,south of 78 th Place NE and west of 59 th Avenue NE,being a portion
ofthe North \-2 ofthe SE '"of the SW \4 of Section 22,Township 30 N,Range 05 E,W.M.,saidproperty
being contiguous to the citylimits and legally described in Exhibit A attached hereto;and
'WHEREAS,onJanuary25,2005the Marysville Planning Commission helda public hearing
to considera prezoneforthe Exhibit A propertyand recommended approval ofsaidprezone to
High Density,Single-Family (5 - 7 d.u.per acre)establishing the R-6.5 zoneforthe annexation;and
'WHEREAS,adulyadvertised public hearing was held on said annexation petition and
prezonebeforethe Marysville City Council on February28,2004,andthe City Council heard
testimonyfromstaff,the applicant andthe public,and was fully advised inthe premises;NOW,
TI-IEREFORE,
BEIT RESOLVED BY TI-IE OTY caUNOL OF TI-IE OTY OF MARYSVILLE,
WASHINGTON,AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.Theproperty described in Exhibit A is hereby approved for annexation intothe
City of Marysville and shall beso annexed by ordinance ofthe City of Marysville upon receipt of a
favorable decision!reportfromthe Snohomish CountyBoundary Review Board.
Section 2. Upon annexation of the property described in Exhibit A,it shall be assessed and
taxedat the same rate andon the same basis asotherproperty within the City of Marysville,
including assessments or taxes forthe payment of itsprorata share and all outstanding indebtedness
of the City contracted or incurred priorto or existing on the effective dateofthe annexation.
Section 3. Upon annexation of the property described in Exhibit A,the Zoningand
Comprehensive Plan designation of the Single-Family,HighDensity (R-6.5)shall applyto said
property.
Section 4. The Community Development Director is hereby authorized to transmit a
County Assessor's map,or other appropriate map,and all files on this annexation proceeding to the
Snohomish County Boundary Review Boardfor consideration and review.
