HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2139 - Stating its intention to annex and zone a certain unincorporated area, known as the Thoemke Annexation, into the city and transmitting the matter to t.-----------------------------------._---------- CITY OF MARYSVILLE Marysville,Washington RESOLUTION NO.2/}~ A RESOLUTION OF THE OTY OF MARYVILLE STATING ITS INTENTION TO ANNEX AND ZONE A CERTAIN UNINCORPORATED AREA,KNOWN AS THE THOEMKE ANNEXATION,INTO THE OTY,AND TRANSMITTING THE MATTER TO THE SNOHOMISH COUNTY BOUNDARYREVIEWBOARDFOR APPROVAL WHEREAS,theCityof Marysville has received a petition for annexation of certain property generally located northof 116th Street NE,east of 44 th Drive NE, southof 120 th Street NE and west of Sherwood Forest Subdivision (6292),being a portion oftheNE V.ANDthatportionof the SE v.of Section 9,Township 30 N,Range 05E,W.M,said property being contiguous to thecity limits and legally described in Exhibit A attached hereto;and WHEREAS,on January 25,2005 the Marysville Planning Commission held a public hearing to consider a prezone forthe Exhibit A property and recommended approval of said prezone to Medium Density,Single-Family (4 - 5 d.u.per acre)establishing the R-4.5 zone forthe annexation; and WHEREAS,adulyadvertised public hearing was held on said annexation petition and prezone before the Marysville City Council on February 28,2004,andthe City Council heard testimony from staff,the applicant andthe public,and was fully advised inthe premises;NOW, lHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY lHE OTY COUNOL OF lHE OTY OF MARYSVILLE, WASHINGTON,AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Thepropertydescribed inExhibit A is hereby approved for annexation intothe City of Marysville and shall beso annexed by ordinance ofthe City of Marysville upon receipt ofa favorable decision!report fromthe Snohomish County Boundary Review Board. Section 2. Upon annexation ofthe property described in Exhibit A,it shall be assessed and taxed atthe same rate andon the same basis asother property within the City of Marysville, including assessments or taxes forthe payment of its pro rata share and all outstanding indebtedness oftheCitycontracted or incurred priorto or existing onthe effective date ofthe annexation. Section 3. Upon annexation ofthe property described in Exhibit A,the Zoning and Comprehensive Plan designation ofthe Single-Family,Medium Density (R-4.5)shall apply to said property. Section 4.The Community Development Director is hereby authorized to transmit a County Assessor's map,orother appropriate map,and all files on this annexation proceeding to the Snohomish County Boundary Review Board for consideration and review.
