HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2147 - Stating its intention to annex and zone a certain unincorporated area known as the Farrington Annexation into the city and transmitting the matter to•.< CITY OF MARYSVILLE ~arysville,~ashington RESOLUTION NO.2-/17 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYVILLE STATING ITS INTENTION TO ANNEX AND ZONE A CERTAIN UNINCORPORATED AREA, KNOWN AS THE FARRINGTON ANNEXATION,INTO THE CITY, AND TRANSMITTING THE MATTER TO THE SNOHOMISH COUNTY BOUNDARY REVIEW BOARD FOR APPROVAL WHEREAS,the City of Marysvillehas received a petition for annexation of certain property generallylocated north of 88"Street NE,south of 93'd Place NE incorporating the lots fronting 60" Drive NE and 61"Drive NE,being a portion of the NE %of Section 22,Township 30 N, Range OSE,W.M. and that portion of the SE '/4 of Section 15,Township 30 N, Range 05 E, W.M., said property being contiguous to the citylimits and legally described in Exhibit A attached hereto;and WHEREAS,on May 24, 2005 the Marysville Planning Commission held a public hearing to consider a prezone for the property described in Exhibit A and recommended approval of said prezone to High Density,Single-Family(5- 7 d.u. per acre) establishing the R-6.S zone for the annexation;and WHEREAS,a duly advertised public hearing was held on said annexation petition and prezone before the MarysvilleCity Council on June 27, 2004, and the City Council heard testimony from staff, the applicant and the public, and was fully advised in the premises;NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE, WASHINGTON,AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The property described in Exhibit A is hereby approved for annexation into the City of Marysvilleand shall be so annexed by ordinance of the City of Marysville upon receipt of a favorable decision/report from the Snohomish County Boundary Review Board. Section 2.Upon annexation of the property described in Exhibit A,it shall be assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as other property within the City of Marysville, including assessments or taxes for the payment of its pro rata share and all outstanding indebtedness of the City contracted or incurred prior to or existing on the effective date of the annexation. Section 3.Upon annexation of the property described in Exhibit A,the Zoning and Comprehensive Plan designation of the Single-Family,High Density (R-6.S)shall apply to said property. Section 4. The Community Development Director is hereby authorized to transmit a County Assessor's map, or other appropriate map, and all files on this annexation proceeding to the Snohomish County Boundary Review Board for consideration and review.
