A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYVILLE STATING ITS INTENTION
TO ANNEX AND ZONE A CERTAIN UNINCORPORATED AREA,KNOWN
AS THE SMITH ANNEXATION,INTO THE CITY, AND TRANSMITTING
THE MATTER TO THE SNOHOMISH COUNTY BOUNDARY REVIEW
BOARD FOR APPROVAL
WHEREAS,theCityof Marysville has received apetitionfor annexation of certain property
generally located northof 88
th StreetNE, eastof 1-5,southof 9500 Block andwestofthecurrent
city limit boundary,being aportionof theNW 1,4 of Section 21,Township 30N,Range 05E, W.M
andthat portionoftheSW V.oftheSW V.of Section 16,Township 30N,Range 05E,WM,said
property being contiguous to thecity limits and legally described in Exhibit A attached hereto;and
WHEREAS,theproposed annexation area is comprised oftwo (2)separate and distinct land
use designations,including Community Business located northof 88 th StreetNE, eastof 1-5,westof
36th Avenue NE andsouthof the 9000 Blockand Medium DensitySingle-family (4 -5d.u.per acre)
located northof the 9000 Block,eastof 1-5,southof the 9500 Block and west of thecurrentcity
limits line;and
WHEREAS,onMay24,2005the Marysville Planning Commission helda public hearing to
consider a prezone forthe property described in Exhibit Aand recommended approval ofsaid
prezone to Community Business and Medium DensitySingle-Family (4- 5 d.u.per acre)
establishing theCB &R-4.5 wne(s) forthe annexation;and
WHEREAS,adulyadvertised public hearing was heldon said annexation petition and
prezone before the Marysville CityCouncil on September 26,2005,andtheCityCouncil heard
testimony from staff,the applicant andthe public,and was fully advised inthe premises;NOW,
TIlEREFORE,
BEIT RESOLVED BY TIlE GTY CDUNGL OF TIlE GTY OF MARYSVILLE,
WASHINGTON,AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.Thepropertydescribed in Exhibit Aisherebyapproved for annexation intothe
Cityof Marysville and shall beso annexed by ordinance of the Cityof Marysville upon receipt ofa
favorable decision!reportfromthe Snohomish County Boundary Review Board.
Section 2. Upon annexation of theproperty descnbed in Exhibit A,itshallbe assessed and
taxed atthe same rate andon the same basis as otherproperty within the Cityof Marysville,
including assessments or taxes forthe payment of itspro rata share andall outstanding indebtedness
of theCitycontracted or incurred priorto or existing on the effective date of the annexation.
Section 3. Upon annexation of theproperty described in Exhibit A,the Zoning and
Comprehensive Plan designation of Community Business (CB)and Single-Family,Medium Density
(R-4.5)shall applyto said property.

Section 4. The Community Development Director is herebyauthorized to transmit a
County Assessor's map,or other appropriate map,andall files on this annexation proceeding to the
Snohomish County Boundary Review Board for consideration and review.
