HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2179 - Initiating annexation of an area contiguous to the city known as the Sunnyside/Whiskey Ridge Annexation into the city and transmitting the matter to t,. ~,'...t • CITY OF MARYSVILLE Marysville,Washington RESOLUTION NO..l n q A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE INITIATING ANNEXATION OF AN AREA CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY KNOWN AS THE SUNNYSIDE/WHISKEY RIDGE ANNEXATION INTO THE CITY, AND TRANSMITTING THE MATTER TO THE SNOHOMISH COUNTY BOUNDARY REVIEW BOARD FOR APPROVAL. WHEREAS,the City of Marysvillehas received a petition for annexation of certain property generally located west of Ebey Slough,north of Soper Hill Road, east of Highway 9, and south of the current city limits boundary,said propertybeing contiguous to the city limits and legallydescribed in Exhibit A attached hereto;and WHEREAS,a duly advertised public hearing was held on said annexation petition before the MarysvilleCity Council on June 12, 2006, and the City Council heard testimony from staff, the applicant and the public, and was fullyadvised in the premises;NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE, WASHINGTON,AS FOLLOWS: Section 1.The property described in Exhibit A is hereby approved for annexation into the City of Marysvilleand shall be so annexed by ordinance of the City of Marysville upon receipt of a favorable decision/report from the Snohomish County Boundary Review Board. Section 2.Upon annexation of the property described in Exhibit A,it shall be assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as other property within the City of Marysville, including assessments or taxes for the payment of its pro rata share and all outstanding indebtedness of the City contracted or incurred prior to or existing on the effective date of the annexation. Section 3.Upon annexation of the property described in Exhibit A, it shall be subject to the City of Marysville 2005 Comprehensive Plan and Whiskey Ridge Master Plan as adopted. Pending a favorable recommendation by the City of Marysville's Planning Commission and approval by the MarysvilleCiryCouncil,zoning willbe adopted consistent with the 2005 Comprehensive Plan Land Use Map for the area and the Whiskey Ridge Master Plan as adopted. Section 4.The Community Development Director is hereby authorized to transmit a County Assessor's map, or other appropriate map, and all fileson this annexation proceeding to the Snohomish County Boundary Review Board for consideration and review.
