A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE AUTHORIZING APPLICATION
(S) FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE WASHINGTON WILDLIFE
AND RECREATION PROGRAM LOCAL PARKS (WWRP)TO THE
INTERAGENCY COMMITTEE FOR OUTDOOR RECREATION (lAC)AS
PROVIDED IN STATE STATUTE CHAPTER 43.98 of the Revised Code of
Washington (RCW)
WHEREAS, The City of Marysville has approved a Comprehensive Park Plan for the
area that includes the acquisition of additional park lands to develop youth and adult
baseball and softball fields, and
WHEREAS,under the provisions of the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program,
state and federal funding assistance has been requested to aid in financing the cost of land
and facilities for local public bodies; and
WHEREAS,the City of Marysville considers it in the best interest to develop new
recreational opportunities on property located on Smokey Point Boulevard,Marysville,
Washington;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Marysville
of Washington,
I. That the Director of Parks and Recreation be authorized to make formal application to
lAC for funding assistance.
2. That any funding assistance received be used for the development of the
Frontier Fields Acquisition Project.
3. That the City of Marysville anticipates its share of project funding will be derived
from REETfunds,Snohomish County as well as funds from community donations.
4. The City of Marysville acknowledges that they must support all non-cash
commitments to the local share should they not materialize.
5. The City of Marysville acknowledges that any property acquired or facility developed
with lAC financial aid must be placed in use as an outdoor recreation facility or
habitat conservation area and be retained in such use in perpetuity unless otherwise
provided and agreed to by the City of Marysville, lAC and any affected federal
agency.
6. That this Resolution becomes a part of a formal application to the lAC.
7. That the City of Marysville provided appropriate opportunity for public comment on
this project through numerous public meetings and or public hearings relating to the
City's Comprehensive Plan 2006-201 I
