A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE, WASHINGTON SUPPORTING THE WASHINGTON
AEROSPACE PARTNERSHIP AND JOINING THE EFFORT TO MAINTAIN WASHINGTON'S POSTION
AS THE BEST LOCATION IN THE WORLD FOR DESIGNING, BUILDING, AND SERVICING AIRCRAFT.
WHEREAS,Washington is proud to be host to the largest concentration of aerospace jobs in the world; and,
WHEREAS, more than 200,000 jobs are supported by the 650 companies operating in 29 of Washington's
counties; and,
WHEREAS,the employees of aerospace companies and their suppliers provide generous financial and volunteer
support to organizations throughout Washington; and,
WHEREAS,Washington is the premier world aerospace center and home to the most talented aerospace
..workforce in the world; and,
WHEREAS, critical decisions will be made in the near future affecting the future of aerospace in Washington,
including whether Boeing is selected to manufacture aircraft refueling tankers for the military and where Boeing will choose
to set up a second 787 assembly line; and
WHEREAS, leaders from all sectors of the community have come together under the banner of the Washington
Aerospace Partnership to promote public policies that help keep Washington competitive, to advocate for the aerospace
industry here, to promote Boeing's tanker proposal, and to encourage Boeing to site its second 787 assembly line in
Washington;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE,WASHINGTON,AS
FOLLOWS:
1. The City of Marysville endorses the Washington Aerospace Partnership's Objectives.
2. The City of Marysville encourages the US Air Force to select the Boeing KC-X tanker as its next mid-air refueling
tanker.
3. The City of Marysville encourages Boeing to locate the second production line of its 787 in Everett.
