PROCLAMATION
Declaring Oct.6-10,2025,as Code EnforcementAppreciationWeekinMarysville
WHEREAS,the second week of October is designated to recognize the important work of Code
Enforcement Officers in communities throughout the country;and
WHEREAS,Code Enforcement Officers provide for the safety,health and welfare of our
residents through the enforcement of building,zoning,housing,animal control,fire
and life safety,environmental and other city codes and ordinances;and
WHEREAS,these officers have challenging and demanding responsibilities for improving
neighborhood and the quality of lives of our city’s residents and businesses,and
work tirelessly with individuals and neighborhoods in often difficult situations:and
WHEREAS,Code Enforcement officers are dedicated,highly qualified and trained
professionals who share the goals of preventing neighborhood deterioration,
ensuring safety and enhancing communities;and
WHEREAS,in 2024 the city Code Enforcement investigated 482 new cases and closed 431
mostly involving graffiti,nuisance properties and building violations:
NOW,THEREFORE I,JON NEHRING,MAYOR,on behalf of the City Council and our
community,do hereby proclaim Oct.6-10,2025,as
CODE ENFORCEMENT APPRECIATION WEEK
in the City of Marysville in appreciation for the hard work of our Code Enforcement Officers and
their dedicated service to neighborhood livability and civic pride.
